The symbols of the Southeast have been chosen with due regard for the symbology of the States that make up the Southeast Region.

The Flag of the Southeast Region draws inspiration from the flags of Alabama and Florida that in turn draw from the flags used by Spain in its Gulf Coast territories, with a central diamond with the Bonnie Blue Star that has a rich tradition in Southeastern flags that began with the Republic of West Florida in 1810.

The flag was designed by Governor HTMLDon and presented to the public for the first time on May 29, 2004. Governor Ernest contributed regulations that were promulgated on December 10, 2004 for the construction and display of our flag.
